Children’s privacy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

A plain-language guide for parents and grown-ups. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

What Moodoodle needs

Almost nothing. There’s no account, no email, and no name to enter. When you set up, we ask for your artist’s age band (like “Ages 6–7”) — not a birthday — and optionally a few things they love, like dinosaurs or space.

Why

The age band sets how detailed Moo’s new pictures are and which Library pictures we suggest first. Interests help suggest ideas. Both stay on your device.

How Create with Moo works

Your child types or says an idea. If they speak, the device turns it into text — we never receive or keep the recording. The idea is checked on the device, then sent to our drawing service, which checks it again and asks our drawing provider (OpenAI) to draw it. The picture comes back to your device and is saved there.

We don’t store the idea, and our service doesn’t log what was asked. The only identifier sent is a random code the app made when it was installed — it isn’t your child’s name, your device’s advertising ID or any account — used to keep a fair daily limit.

Kids sometimes put personal details into ideas (“my dog Max at 12 Oak Street”). Moodoodle removes things that look like email addresses, links and long numbers, but please encourage kids to describe pictures rather than people and places.

What happens to artwork

It’s saved on your device, in Moodoodle. We never upload it or see it. It can be part of your device’s own backups, as other app data is. Sharing, printing and saving to Photos only happen after a grown-up check.

No ads, no tracking

Moodoodle has no advertising, no ad tracking, and no analytics or tracking tools. Purchases happen through Apple or Google, behind a grown-up check.

What you can do

  • Change the age band or interests: Settings (the gear on Home) → the grown-ups area.
  • Delete one picture: My Art → ••• → Throw pictures away.
  • Delete all artwork: the grown-ups area → Clear All Artwork.
  • Start over: the grown-ups area → Reset Moodoodle on this device. Deleting the app removes everything too.
  • Turn music and sounds off in Settings.
